Water Under the Bridge

You have my heart and you should know that by now,
But too often, you still find doubt somehow.
Do you really not know, that like you there will never be another?
For me, there isn’t nor will there ever be any other.
No man holds a candle to you. You are a man among men.
When it comes to this heart you win.
Why you think so little of your self I will never know.
Do you not see the love and admiration I so blatantly show?
Do you not know that I would walk through a desert
Of burning heat, so that I could lay my heart at your feet?
Is our love on ground that shaky?
Do you really believe my love to be so flaky?
What gives you reason to be so insecure?
What more do I have to do for you to be reassured?
I thought by now these childish games would have passed?
How can you not know this love was built to last?
I am committed and dedicated not just for you,
But for myself to see this love on through.
These are the trials that separate the weak from the strong,
This is what decides who will be standing
at the end of a day that has been too long.
This will not be our defeat, nor our downfall.
It’ just another thing, and we won’t sweat the small.
So just take my hand and let us carry on.
And soon these troubles between us will be all but gone.
