Walk Away

WALK AWAY
I’m sorry for the hurt it causes you But honesty is best I’m sure you’ll see. I cannot love you as you want me to, With the intensity that you love me. Perhaps in time the memory will fade And I may give my whole self once again, But visions of another still invade My dreams at night and still I feel the pain. You’re sharing me my dear with one who’s gone And though you’ve told me you’re prepared to wait, It isn’t fair to keep you hanging on. Go now I beg before it’s all too late. It’s better that you walk away and live For you deserve far more than I can give 29th April 2019 Apology Poetry Contest Sponsor - Line Gauthier
