Valentine That Never Was

The Valentine that Never was

That night I could barely close the eyes while sleeping
As I eagerly waited for the day breaking
The clock seemed to tick slower than usual
All I thought, another chance to see is coming
Months had passed without seeing you
But this night seemed a decade long

The only way of communication was the love letters
I could hardly wait to see your beautiful face
Your wonderful smile and glittering eyes
Which made me get crazy over you
I wish you knew, you were my everything

It was to be our first valentine date
To meet in town and buy some snacks
Then we proceed to the island where we were to spend the day
That morning I prepared the best
After ensuring I wore your favorite colors I left the house
Not forgetting your present, a 'Golden Japanese Wristwatch'

Arriving in town, I saw you across the street waiting for me
Beautiful more than six months ago
Only a five meter road separated us
I shouted your name and you looked at me
With a broad smile and excitement you crossed the road

But I only remember a loud bang
Thought it was a puncture but I was wrong
I saw you lying down, lifeless in a pool of blood
I cried but no one was there to console me
I couldn’t believe you were no more
My worst day ,a valentine that never was
