Valentine 2020, a Letter To My Love

It did not cross my mind on yesterday when I called to wish you a Happy Valentine Day. But one day later

as I sit here quietly thinking and writing about you and me, it has occured to me that for the nearly 50 years of our

romantic life, we have never been apart on Valentine day. In our 47 years of marriage, only this once we are apart.

When we are apart, you still have my heart, just as firmly as you had it from the start.

When we are apart, I still feel your presence and sometimes, that presence affects my essence

Like the first time that you went away for a month. I was busy in the garage and anticipating that you

would soon be coming to inquire about me and my tasks. I had to catch myself and relax, when I was reminded by

my aging brain that you were some 2000 miles away. I suspect that's what love does when it's genuine and true.
