Utopic Dreams

Much has changed since time almost ended
We the people find the Internet blended
Melted hearts, reshaped and mended,
As triumph falls where we heard the calls of dead ends expended.
The very same streets, once emptied,
Now filled with joy, dance, and plenty
Knowing all too well the fears of being locked inside,
We live upon this second chance of life.
A moment to remember as the world stood still,
Unspoken, yet seen, goes the human will.

From roofs of pattern to skies of beckoning blue, brighter than before
From screens of static to the optic nerves our sunlight ensures,
From walls of angst to trees of vibrant green, love is filled where hearts had been poured.
With parties, drinking, and laughter
We remember the things that truly matter,
Discarding the old ways of egoic chatter.

We’ve moved on to a higher plane of existence
How we exist no longer meets resistance
Instead we accept the varying races,
Holding each other in warm multi-colored embraces
Forgetting not how our differences create us.
To come together, nation by nation, shows inklings of reversing damnation
As our search for euphoric transcendence transmutes temptation,
The door of damaged, dogmatic, dependance closes and one of free flowing, frolicking, freedom further opens.

Utopia within grasp.

Like a sailor seeing seagulls by the ocean shore,
Our eyes are blessed with luminescent light shining through our star crested corridor.
Illuminating the fight we have tried so hard to ignore,
Knowing how close the day is, in which, neighbors will hate no more.
