Love Poem: Used Cars

Used Cars

I passed a used car lot and thought
of my own vehicle...and had to crack-
a-smile: a lot of mileage and poorly
maintained~ tires often over inflated

seldom attentively cleaned and
meticulously polished...

Of course, it has been “My Way”,
sort of like a Sinatra song
but far less flamboyant, though
not entirely deprived of Bragging
Rights. And yet, there has been
an element of destiny, I am lost
to fully define...that mist we come
from, the shadows we know are
there, lurking behind the screen,
just beyond a mind's rational edge

Often struggling to determine my
real from my visually, audibly imaged,
I am only certain of our shared affection,
the lingering warmth of heated embraces
I have carried with me into the chill of
separate days~ with our breathless kisses
that somehow define life beyond all
breathable borders –

Who knows? Maybe there is a Heaven,
as love remains the greatest Wonder of
The World~ 7 + its best.
