Love Poem: Used

Used

You did not ever want me
Cast me aside no use for me

I was meant for a summer kiss
But, after that you did not want this

Dragged me after you but then let go
Toss me back and forth, to and fro

In the aftermath what do I have left my sweet?
In this game of hide and seek

No one’s here to light the candle anymore
Broken, I’m left scattered across the floor

No one here to light this way
An infinite space between the night and day.

Cold fingers without your hand to keep warm
Inside my heart I think I have a worm

Inside of me the parasite I host
The mirror asks, what’s it like to be a ghost?
