Love Poem: Upon Broken Strings

Upon Broken Strings

Recoiling on the bitter tones
When bridges are sharp like stones
I’m fretting about these rough edges
Upon broken strings
Transposing on the fly
Hear the lonely harp cry
The tune may have changed
But the song remains the same
Blood tears dripping on the chords
Upon broken strings
Transposing on the fly
Hear the lonely harp cry
Sadness heavy upon the strings
This broken thing has a sting
Playing through till joy comes home
Upon broken strings
Transposing on the fly
Hear the lonely harp cry
No time to stop I’m not done regretting
It is all about the blues in this setting
Where am I heading I don’t know
When heartstrings are vibrating still
And the mind spins like a wagon wheel
Upon broken strings
Transposing on the fly
Hear the lonely harp cry
