Upon Break of Day - Pure Unadulterated Love and Romance

My eyes sometimes see things new,
Yet most images fly same as yesterday.
Even birds, though their tunes do change;
At least I'd like to believe they do.

Still I wonder as my feet touch floor,
This is a miracle once again realized.
What right does one have to mortal privileges?,
When angels such as Rebecca have already flown.

Then I think of hatred, cruelty and war.
So happy in knowing she has escaped their presence;
This soldier has taken his last breath without dying,
Would not turn clock back if it meant not to have met her.

For I've been blessed with the honor of meeting true love.
Awoke to it every morning graced gently upon her face;
No one should pity this knight who has ridden straight into hell,
Because peace has embraced me more times than I deserve.
