Love Poem: Untitled

How do I convey
What I mean to say
To a heart that cries
Yet i'm mesmerised

No more can I hide
The affection inside
A body so weak
Who's conscience is meek

What would I give
A heart that forgives
The hand of a lover
I may yet discover

It seems such a waste
To lose an embrace
I pay now the cost
For what's foolishly lost

A memory that's passed
In time it might last
Like a beat in a heart
Of a body apart

I wonder her thought
And do what I ought
To savour a kiss
That I sorely miss

It didn't last long
And now that she's gone
I await her return
For a touch I yearn

Now I grow tired
From one time inspired
Left only to dream
Of love I have seen

A soul that is pure
Of this I am sure
That never again
I'll suffer in vain

So now when I meet
Her beauty so sweet
I'll choke on my breath
For that which I left

And now I decide
To swallow my pride
And remember her taste
Forget not in haste

I meant not to break
A heart by mistake
In time I intend
For this heart to mend

It's this that I say
Should love ebb away
I fear i'll not find
A lover so kind

These words that I write
Mean nothing this night
For I can't express
This beat in my chest

And when it is read
This verse in my head
Upset not your eyes
With tears that I cry

So now when it rains
I'll think once again
I'll take to the grave
The joy that she gave

I'd like now to state
That as my heart breaks
I hope she'll forgive
So I may still live
