Love Poem: Untitled

My path is already chosen for me,
unfortunately, because of you.
Will ever find you?
Or, if I fail,
will you find me?
Don't point out my naivety,
Don't laugh at my dreams.
Although they may be childish,
those who have not dreams have nothing.
I am waiting for you,
yet you do not come.
Where are you?
I'm not sure if I miss you yet.
Maybe wait a day or two,
or a lifetime.
I'd like to think
that life is a highway,
with exits as escapes
and speed limits.
But my path seems to be
a one way street.
And I am always stuck
in the traffic.
Waiting...
Waiting...
Waiting...
But I've waited long enough.
It's now time to push aside
my naivety
and my child-like dreams...
No, I can't do it.
My heart, once again,
swayed my decision.
I can't even think for myself anymore.
Not since you breezed your way
across my street,
casually,
like a pedestrian
crossing a park.
Like a roadblock,
my life is in a stop,
blocked from any forward movement.
But you never looked back
when I was stuck in the mud.
You just sauntered on your way,
not caring whose life you altered forever.
But I'll tell you one thing my heart can't change...
I will never push aside my dreams for the appeasement of another.
If you don't like it, well then, you can just go on your way,
on your highway of hell, too bad for you,
And don't drag me along.
