Untitled

And so they thought
that the days would last for years,
exchanging cigarettes for tears,
as their fears dissolved
like cough drops in the mind.

And then, the little rebel,
with their sharp tongue and sharp eye,
no time to watch the paint dry,
charged a melancholy heart;
sweet melody through a tin-can telephone.
