Until This Breath Becomes the Wind I'Ll Ride

I've loved more than enough,
never tired of declaring it
through defeats and triumphs;
I've given not expecting rewards...
and the ones who had it rough
are grateful for such a kind heart
when their hand was empty
and their voice echoed with misery.

Until this breath becomes the wind I'll ride,
and nothing is left of me but bones,
I entrust my hope to the Eternal God
who created Man from plain mud
and gave him a free will to decide
whether he was peaceful or engaged in wars.
I would have chosen blessing and life,
not sorrow, curse and constant strife!

All wrong desires were taken away from me,
perhaps it seemed unfair, but saved me
from total destruction and frightful despair;
I am thankful for having done right,
resisting sin and walking in the light:
I'm still living and breathing free of fear!

Until this breath becomes the wind I'll ride,
I must be purer than air and water,
be worthy of looking at His shining
face and bow down and smile;
I went to the extremes in showing
my generosity to others less lucky
and accomplished deeds of honor:
even friends can become vicious enemies,
if one has too much honesty and dignity!
