Unrequited Attraction

I caught your eye as it flashed across my line of sight, My first thought was that you were completely--out of sight. A beautiful blonde would not give me a second thought, I might as well have been a million miles--from your sight. I sent a note to you along with a nice glass of sweet Bordeaux You accepted it and quickly took it from the bar--and my sight. But I could not see you in the smoky dust rising distant there With a handsome man embracing, the dancing--from my sight. So, I left my drink upon the bar and left the smokey bar alone Once home, I dreamed of the blonde who stole my heart--on sight. I have returned to the bar several times since I saw you there But you have not returned to dance the night away--in my sight.
