Love Poem: Unhesitant

Unhesitant

Put aside the past, they say, and pull the shutters down;
Draw the evening curtains and put on the thorny crown,
The one with russet spikes which scrape and gore the forehead frown
'Till blood drips burning penitence in which emotions drown.

Put aside the past, they say, it fires like a gun;
Echoes in a metal skull, much easier said than done,
Each word a killing bullet ricocheting one by one,
To penetrate the target heart and blow away the sun.

All I have is promises that I can pledge to you;
Assurances of pure love, compassionate and true,
Sincerity and sympathy in all I see and do,
A wish for pain removal and to watch you pulling through.

I will be unhesitant and minister your needs;
Never fail or hurt with either thoughtless words or deeds,
I will heal the open wound and stem the cut that bleeds
With a love that cannot be denied, to you alone concedes.
