Unhappily Ever After

Once upon a time not long ago,
In a dungeon their was a man trapped down below.
He was one of the finest swordsman in all the lands,
Unmatched was the skill that lied in his hands.
His sword was the sharpest of any utensil,
He fought his battle of love by swinging a pencil.
He wore an invisible armor made out of Godly vapor,
His shield were the words he wrote down on paper.
Each poetic line described a fantastic story,
There were rhymes of pain, rhymes of joy, and his greatest worry.
He blended the right mixture of repentance in his technique,
The trumpets sounded to the tune of "I'm sorry", that was all so unique.
Like a warrior who depends on his strength from the unseen,
He was on a quest to recapture the love of his queen.
He would attack the dark caves of an unforgettable romance,
He would wrestle with lions just to hold her hand in a final dance.
There was nothing to stop him on this lovers crusade,
He believed one day she would answer the poems he made.
He would then bow on one knee, to proclaim her as his mistress,
She would come to his rescue, saving a king in distress.
As he waited fervently for her love to return,
The months turned to years as his soul began to yearn.
Faithfully he rode on the horse of hope,
In the meantime the dragon of doubt flew over his mind, telling him nope.
Everyday his sorrow went from tragic to worse,
The magic left his letters, his poems became a lover's curse.
For once in his life, his talent brought him disaster.
She never wrote back and his life ended unhappily ever after.
