Unfaithful Remorse

When I come home, you pretend to smile,
But inside you cry, all the while.
You know my thoughts are not of you,
Just hope some day, I'll love you too.
I know not why I treat you so bad,
For, you are the truest love I have had.
If you shall find the room to forgive,
I promise my heart for as long as I live.
All that I have is this simple request,
Let's live from this day, not from the rest.
But if this hurdle should be too high,
I will cower my head and say good bye.
For its happiness and joy I wish you to see,
Not sadness and pain as when you're with me.
So, have a nice life, and hope that you find,
That prince of a man you once had in mind.
Maybe with time, and the lesson I've learned,
I can renew the vows that I have burned.
To show my love for you of course,
And to help you see my unfaithful remorse.
