Love Poem: Two Different People

Two Different People

The Church was all lit,
The music was playing
I stood by the door,
listening to those vows,
That you were saying
And when he lifted your veil,
I started to cry
For that's when I turned,
with a tear in my eye

In August you left me,
in harsh words of hate,
Suitcase in hand,,
slamming the gate
The dreams that we made,
just weren't to be
Two different people,
who just couldn't see

I heard the bells ringing,
from way across town
Saw your picture in the
paper,
wearing your gown
Your face looked so happy,
I just had to cry

You had a smile on your face,
no tear in your eye
I walked into a bar,
and picked up a bottle
For I needed to drown,
away all my sorrows
I pulled a gun from my coat,
with the bullet for him
Cocked back the hammer,
my life just went dim

In August you left me,
with harsh words of hate
Suitcase in hand,
slamming the gate
The dreams that we made,
just weren't to be
For two different people,
who just couldn't see
