Truth and Love

Truth is, that elephant in bed with you
The one between you and your spouse
Stealing the covers late at night
Snoring with peanuts on its breath
Jumping in the bathtub with you
Only to break through the floor
Neighbors don't like three nude creatures
Coming down uninvited at breakfast
Dining tables were not made for that
All that wet and weight and naked
There is nothing wrong with love
Everyone should love their elephant
The couple should have brought a towel
Some cake or peanut butter and jelly
Their friend should excuse himself
Being large is not smart or wise sometimes
What would their neighbor's think?
Two is company, three is a crowd
They should have taken a shower
