Love Poem: True Power

True Power

Came to you to change it up,
Move from an infant to an adult,
Guess it was all my fault,
Should of seen,
That you weren’t ready,
The game I brought was all to heavy,
You would struggle under the weight,
Even with the bait,
I threw out,
You grabbed it wrong,
I tried to fix it with a couple songs,
But like the little kid you are,
Thought you were a superstar,
Didn’t respect my veteran status,
Thought we could’ve made an us,
So good I could make it out of a little,
All you had to do was follow the game plan,
Not even that you could do,
Tried to take it over,
Pulled some childish crap,
But should of seen it from the start,
That you weren’t ready for a man with my heart.

I know I can try to be a superhero,
But I respect the game,
People’s feelings and the ways to make them change,
But every step forward,
Every right path we took,
You tried to get yourself off the hook,
Even the day I cooked,
For you, all the other things I tried to do,
I know I am a damn good man,
A lucky catch,
Easy to keep,
But like an ass you let me seep,
Little by little you made mistakes,
Thought you had me in your grasp.
But I showed how smooth I am,
Walked away without even a glance,
Back in your direction,
A day with no protection,
The gloves came off,
I showed you just how tough,
My little frame is,
Even if we never talk again,
I have won,
Cause I got over you,
Even before that day,
Just needed to test myself,
And it worked.

No I am really happy,
Alone and free,
Listen, (cuss) YOU!!!!!
Wow, what could this be,
True power has come to me.
