Love Poem: Trespass

Trespass

The journey began shortly after you fell asleep last night
Your gentle breathing guiding me into your very being
One might think I would find darkness but instead I found light
As if you had been expecting my arrival and knew my true meaning

I knew not which direction to travel but did follow the beat of your heart
Like a giant river flowing the sound grew louder as I traveled ever inward
Directing my every move as if calling to me like a mystical matriarch
Further and further I traveled my progress never hindered

Suddenly, I became entangled in your dreams and felt I might be lost this night
But the dreams were so beautiful that I soon forgot my fear
You dreamed of angels and flowers and other things so natural and bright
I was swept away in a magnificent rush of grandeur my destiny unclear

I feared you might awake and feel my presence and become alarmed
But you quietly slept on and no movement did I sense
My passage through your being was never intended to do harm
My need to discover your inner secrets driven by yearnings so intense

The thunderous beats of your heart grew ever louder as I sensed the journey's end
Your breathing accelerated as if you were suddenly gasping for air
I gathered all my strength as ever deeper I did descend
Suddenly your body gave welcome to my presence as utter ecstasy we did share

The mornings light found me lying once again at your side
You woke as you had done so many mornings in the past
You looked at me and smiled and then spoke with a gentle sigh
Saying simply "We should meet like that more often my love
...even though you did trespass"
