Love Poem: Transcending Love's Winter

Transcending Love's Winter

She stood in silent reverie as winter winds blew
Through her soul and impaled her heart
On the shards of disbelief
What was once a feel of Spring's renewal
The blossoming and revival of growth in a
Sparkling new world,now
Carries her to the cold snow banks of discontent
Encasing herself in the cinders that are dying
Reaching out with brittle fingers
Full well knowing the barely glowing embers are
The only legacy left her in this frigid heartbreak
She needs to carry on
Gathering her spirit around her she protects
What's left of her hope and drags it through the
Icy remnants of love lost
