Love Poem: To Sharon

To Sharon

These days I see you in so much pain
And I want so much to help you
To bring and release the healing rain
And show you that you’re not a fool

I looked up to you every day
At times I would never leave your side
We would always laugh, poke fun, and play
Until we got hurt and lost our pride
Remembering the days we spent together
You have always been the funny and lovely
Though best times cannot last forever
You never fail to touch our family

When Dad was down you lifted him high
Making him compliment himself
You made him smile and you got him to try
To fix his saddened health
When Mom was not in the best of spirits
You cheered her up with mirth
Whenever there was gloom you were there to cure it
Bringing happiness to the earth
You and Charles always cracked me up
In your little, cheerful ways
Getting him to laugh, bringing him love
Helping him forget the hard times of today
You also had much fun with Rob
No matter the time of day
Making fun of Joe the Slob
And the mustard-loving McKay!
As for David, he needs you so
And so does the dear Kalona babe
David loves you more than we know
We all do all the same

Oh…and of course your Andrew
Will always love you too
After all, you are the love of his life
You are so beautiful and true
Why else would you agree to be his wife?

Surely not because he’s a weird, retarded leprechaun on crack?
Okay, I take that back
I shouldn’t be talking smack
