Love Poem: To Say Simple Things Like,

To Say Simple Things Like,

As these days fade into forever
I’m still haunted by your
Echoed kisses these “Jaimee smiled”
Styled reminiscences on
Nights that faded in to day
No one could pull our lips away
I wish I had your lips today

I’m wishing for your ears
To say something you’d reply
“Too”, three or maybe eight or ten
Letters that describe when
Slaves build pyramids in your soul
Edges bold yet subtly sewn
How this has grown from
“She’s cute and her smile is fine”
To “That lady is going to make me a fine
Wife” one day and our life one day
Will rival Olympus happiness

If I had to mentally build or guess
The walk of the perfect woman
My heart couldn’t ever fathom you
I always thought that angels flew
Not walked among us never
Imagining I would be so blessed
No need for games
Or tests to see if we’re worthy

I was built to love thee
My eyes were made to only see
Those smiles, again damn
I can’t seem to shake them
Only God could’ve made them
So beautiful like the moon
They rule my tides
Like the North Star my nights
They guide

Angel dove you glide
On the winds inside my world
Mirroring winds inside my soul
Violin strings plucked to a beat
I can’t play cause I’m running
Out of words to say
Simple things…
