Love Poem: To Kristofer

To Kristofer

The wind slithered through my skin
The ambient lights darker up top
My heartbeat pumping heat through your lungs
I’m shrieking, butterflies in chaos

It's 11 pm, cold mountains, city lights
We were above all, like how we should be
Conversations went from silly to earnest
Two inches closer, my yearning’s replete

While we’re playing the present
My mind ponders the future
No kidding, we are it
I live without blueprint, you came in an imprint

My love, my promise may be inkless
My pledge may not come in certificate
Assurances could be vague
Please don’t doubt, living is pointless if it’s you without.

These episodes of allure around us may fade
But what we have, who we were, how we will be
Is visceral to the grave where I’ll lay with glee
Come what may, you and I will know no eerie.

For now, hold my hand and drive down steep
Feel the shivering breeze or taste my warmth
Hell may let go, but not I
My love is compelling, repulsing you the goodbye.
