Love Poem: Time's Fleeting Sense

Time's Fleeting Sense

The slow weathered drip of life falls restrained
As years turn and decay begins to show
Time is met in memories self-contained
Disappearing ghosts from the mind's window
A child on a cloud of imagination
Wondrous worlds lost and yet to create
A young man wearing shoes of freedom found
Chasing after love to impersonate
A time bandit, stealing cherished moments
As its payment has cost the skin to gray
Broken into years of passing segments
The sleeping night, the entrance to the day

How quick it all has been, time's fleeting sense
When the last drip falls, my death will commence
