Love Poem: Timeless

Timeless

Waves of Time which crash upon the shore
and sift the shifting sands in ebb and flow,
rain down on fragile life forever more
with little to be seen and less to know.
Cold hands make futile gestures at the night
as if to force it back from daylight's end,
a face of deepened shadows, fading light,
tilts downward as the twilight hours descend.
Yet seeing how the feral clock erodes,
how Time can eat and race, can creep and crawl,
the future fizzles out or near explodes,
and love alone endures through it all.
In funeral pall, in savage veil of tears,
love bequeathed transcends the very years.
