Love Poem: Time

Time

Today, I woke with a smile
aches and pains aside
seems it has been a while
But ever-changing is the tide.

Age doesn't take a vacation
too busy to be ill
And it isn't vindication
for the happiness I feel.

Can't we just be honest?
where there is no pretense,
 a day we're just us,
 because it makes better sense.

I have love that fills my heart,
And these deep breaths hold me still
even when I fall apart
With hurts, that's like a bitter pill.

Some days aren't so great
I want to give and bend
And others can relate
That the trials never end.

All we can do is move
Time is ticking all the time
 Nothing left to prove
Just life that's passing by.

Just smile at the knowing,
With each new breath of morning air
The canvas of love overflowing
Now that you're aware.
