Thy Will Be Done

Heavenly Father, I ask to know you well
Better than my mind could imagine or dream
I ask you into my heart where you can dwell
Always the best part of my life’s blessed theme

Heavenly Father, I ask to be closer to you
Knowing you much better than I did before
Please impart to me your heavenly view
Aware that my heart and soul to you adore

Heavenly Father, I ask to grasp how to pray
With the words that linger in your omnipotence
Show me just what I should always say
To make me aware of your joy so limitless

Heavenly Father, I ask to be humble and kind
The woman who you have me to be while alive
Teach me to always share my heart with all I find
Reassuring others of how you will make them thrive

Heavenly Father, I ask you to lead me in faith
Through the worst of my worry, trials and grief
That I might always understand just what you saith
And find ways to avoid the deceiver, liar and thief

Heavenly Father, I ask you to fill me with Your Love
The Holy Spirit who makes me feel true compassion
And comes to me as meek and calm as the beautiful dove
Filling me to overflowing with love that brings satisfaction

Heavenly Father, I ask to become like a little child
Listening to your word with an enthusiastic heart
Forever finding ways to be completely gentle and mild
With loving ways that only You are capable to impart

Heavenly Father, I ask, above all, that Thy will be done
Here on this creation called earth and in heaven above
I want to keep on showing you how I love the Son
The one who taught my heart the way to show real love
