Thy Will - Not My Will

Like a beautiful flower blooming Dreams spill from my depths Awakening all the joy inside me With hope for tomorrow’s expressions Like a soft color moving in a hue Around the sun or moon or rainbow Is this feeling that flows from my heart Reminding me that I’m so very alive Like a whisper of sweet love’s breath Murmuring into my ear so sweetly There comes the tenderness of love Calling my senses into a new direction Like delightful leaves falling down Dancing around in the chilly air My feelings reflect the sensations Of knowing that someone is near Like the delicate lace on a fabric Teasing with traces of complexities This rare and wonderful feeling within Comes from knowing I’m truly loved Like a prayer softly spoken to God When you’re feeling so uncertain There comes relief for your fears With the answers that He does purpose Like love that knows no bounds But makes you lose your control With compassion that promises Much more than a mere word of affection Like a mind that is opening to hope There comes at a time in each life When faith in the way of true love Inspires the heart to swiftly beat Like a heartbreak that has healed Kindness soothes the remembrance And reminds the heart just why It always gives without any conditions Like a whimsical thread of thought That leaves one feeling so uncertain This faith fills me up with assurance That I’ve reached a place of decision Like joy that colors the world like sunshine This feeling is one of the reasons I live And give all that I have within me To grant God’s purpose – Thy will – not my will
