Those We Love
Those we love don’t go away
They walk beside us everyday
And when I feel my world begin to grow
As dark as night
I feel the warmth of your hand gently holding mine tight
The years have gone and at times I lose track of time
And yet to me it was only yesterday when you were taken from my side
You vowed you would be beside me always
Yet always was not meant for you and me
Always ended that second day in January
I sat by your side and said goodbye
I kissed your check and tried not to cry
I let you go peacefully
Knowing that when it’s time for me to go
You’ll be in the other side waiting to greet me
