Love Poem: This Boy and Me

This Boy and Me

I loved a boy
His name was Free

He had eyes of fire
When he looked at me

We lived by the sea
This boy and me

Given to kindness
To all and me

But with a dark past
This boy, not me

Sometimes we talked
This boy and me

Sometimes he loved
This boy to me

We grew old together
This boy with me

He went above
This boy, not me

I went below
Not this boy, but me

I fought to see him
This boy named Free

I will always love you
Said this boy to me

"You sinner"
Said god

"You hypocrite"
Said me

For you loved your son so
But forbid for me

To love a man the same
As you did me

For I give my soul
To this boy named Free

A thousand fold
I would give it to Thee

So don’t condescend
Nor throw the stone

Lest the first sinner
Be better than me.
