Thinking of You

Early in the day at the break of dawn,
while the doe is nursing her newborn fawn,
and flowers in the fields are splashed with dew,
then is when I'll think of you.

As the sun rides high in a sky of blue
and the clouds drift by and escape from view;
as the birds sing softly in their loft above,
then I'll think of you, my love.

When the birds in the treetops cease to sing
and tuck sleepy heads underneath a wing;
as the sun sinks low and the day is through,
then, again, I'll think of you.

When all little children kneel down to pray
and the wild in the woods come out to play,
and the sky above is a purple hue,
then I still will think of you.

In summer, when wildflowers bud and grow,
in winter, when they are beneath the snow,
in autumn or spring, or the whole year through,
always will I think of you.
