There You Were

...and there you were   standing in my rain   not caring getting wet   for I was not a dream     an impossibility about   to become made possible     the greats all gifted us with words   sang high praise to pain and promise   entitlement of love, honour   of grandeur's of the sea   laid down in history   from that, your vision took     daisies float atop a pond   honeysuckle falls unto the wind   I hear the dire rustle   calling to bring me home     eyes of blue you dance   the twilight of the ball   every breath engulfing   the beauty of it all     sing inside my rainstorm   where rainbows disappear   heartbeats come alive   sheer love it never fears   ride off until tomorrow   I'll be waiting near the brook   reading Keats and Chaucer   immersed in your wistful look
