Love Poem: There Will Always Be a Tomorrow

There Will Always Be a Tomorrow

Having fear makes it difficult to love anybody
Including yourself
This night two naked women scream splashing in glee
In a pool filled with autumn rains

Beaded strands of translucent wet slip down each other's leg
Each drop containing the full moon
Their glistening skin comes alive
Two bodies explore their essences

A flower opens with the sun
Then closes when shadows stretch to touch the leaves edge
As when two women reach to touch hands
Then one stretches to rub the other’s cheek

The subtlety of the moment is sublime
The final stroke finessed by lips caressing lips
Two hearts finding each other in togetherness
Lost spirits in this hard word uniting to experience their souls

If love has found a home
They’ll stay together to discover true love is real
If not, they’ll go their separate ways
Forever searching to fill the emptiness in their hearts

Always lamenting the miracle it could have been
Remembering lost passions that created their memories
And the present fervent inner need to re-live those moments
Further entrenching itself in their minds as an opportunity lost

But young hearts know there will always be a tomorrow,
Always another chance,
And with a glass of wine tomorrows are forever on the horizon
Until they aren’t.
