Love Poem: The Wind Cried

The Wind Cried

The Wind Cried

The wind cried out in pain
merging with the falling rain,
battering against the old window pane.
Again and again,
it called out your wretched name;
it called out your wretched name...
again and again.

Yes, that old wind sighed,
it moaned and cried
knowing that love died.

Why, why did you go,
leaving me behind like a shadow?
Stirring my still-born dreams
in a black broken tea cup?
The minute you left,
love tip-toed away
brokenhearted like rotting leaves,
blowing down a lonely highway.

Yes, that old wind sighed
it moaned and cried
knowing that love died.

A pot of bitter herbs
brewing on the earthen stove,
as a nameless wind called out
for love to return.

Yes, that old wind sighed
it moaned and cried
knowing that love died.
