Love Poem: The Way They Kiss

The Way They Kiss

Now I sit and cry,
For a life to which I said goodbye,
It's not that life that I miss,
But the country girls and the way they kiss,
The beautiful way they smile,
Maybe the view across a country mile,
It seems like such a shame,
Across the continent things aren't the same,
Next to me they would stand,
And gently just hold my hand,
Against my shoulder they'd lean their head,
Not a single word need be said,
At times in the mud we'd get stuck,
Then just lay in the back of my truck,
Life was easy and a bit slow,
But where we'd fit we'd always know,
These memories locked in my mind,
Even though that life's so far behind,
It's not the life that I miss,
But the country girls and the way they kiss!
