Love Poem: The Waltz of Life

The Waltz of Life

A waltz of death comforts my soul
The only thing I’ve ever known
A settled calm brushes my skin
I dance along, I smile within

My dying songs take up my hands
Where most will hide, I only stand
A playful swing brings on the day
This perfect hall is where I will stay

The world is one, all in this room
The mirrored walls reflect with the moon
People fall and some people wait
There are still some that prefer the day

Across the hall I meet her eyes
Our steps are one, as are our sighs
Hold me close and keep this pace
This changing world; a kiss I can taste

We are alone, there’s nothing to fear
The mirrors break, but we are here
All alone in this glass hall
We spiral on, until we shall fall

I’d die for you because I still see
Without an end our journey can’t be
And so I spin until we die
What is shall be, in this waltz of life
