The True Meaning

Wandering this realm,
Always felt so alone.
Feeling so out of place,
Nowhere's quite felt like home.
Lacking vital connections,
To the ones who surround me.
Lost inside that dark place,
Well, at least till you found me.
My pieces are broken,
But you say you don't mind.
Help my eyes to look forward,
And leave my old wounds behind.
A whisper of love,
And a soft, gentle hand.
When I start to lose hope,
You remind me (that) I can.
That I CAN rebuild me,
Even though I am broken.
You always lift me up,
With your loving words spoken.
With my mind where it was,
Death was seen as a gift.
But you've breathed a new life in me,
When I've felt nothing was left.
I was shattered and bruised,
And hope did not exist.
But your nurturing soul,
It extended my list.
My list of reminders,
That life's not all bad.
You've been my consistent,
When I've lost all I had.
So I need you to know,
From what soul I have left.
That my smiles are genuine,
And you've made me feel my best.
As the nights fall below,
And the days rise above.
You have shown me real happiness,
And the true meaning of love.
