The Thought of You
I hear your voice when others speak,
How often in crowds your face i seek.
I smell your perfume as it lingers upon the air,
I close my eyes and for that blissful moment,
only you and i are there.
I think of you while wondering,
I think of you while pondering.
I think of you while dozing off,
And in dreams, i dream of you.
You're the thought upon my waking
I grasp it clutching it praying.
That even as time begins taking
And my memories are slowly fading,
That i may be left happily partaking,
Of that single thought of you.
