you treated me to a surprise
you made me a woolen sweater
the love showed in your eyes
it was bulky, too big, and an ugly grey
it itched and made my skin feel bad
but it's always been, to me, the best sweater
that I ever had
it really looked just awful
to everyone but me
I guess all the others
just failed to notice what I see
cause my Rosie made me this sweater
not really made of wool
something far more precious
then the angels have above
cause this ugly grey old sweater
was knitted of your love.
