Love Poem: The Shadow and I

The Shadow and I

Entertaining impossibilities
As if you could be replaced
Holding onto probability
And epiphanies not yet faced
A parade of local distractions
Numb revolving door romance
Affectations of attractions
Hiding the invisible dance
Between the shadow and I
Never felt something more
So much more than meets the eye
On our eternal ballroom floor

It's not right now
But it's always right now
So why can't it be right, now?
It's all I can write, now
And it takes me right back
Hoping someday
maybe you'll write back
