The Rose That Grows In My Mother's Yard
The rose that grows in my mother’s yard
was planted by hands of love.
She carved a hole into the earth
and moved the dirt above.
She stuck the roots into the ground
and put the dirt back in.
And now a rose, planted by love,
lives where the dirt had been.
