The Romance of True Love

The harvest moon is bright tonight,
Recalling times long past,
When he and I strolled in its light.
We held each other fast
And pledged our love to last.

The years went by and our love grew.
We’d gone from two to one.
So close that we no longer knew
Where one had ended, the other begun.
And then I birthed a son.

Our little family increased.
Two daughters came along.
Through all this time our love unceased,
Made every day a song
And we could not go wrong.

But God had plans we couldn’t know.
He took my love away.
This faithful man whom I loved so.
I am still in such disarray
And miss my love unto this day.
