Love Poem: The Road That Leads Me back To You

The Road That Leads Me back To You

The road that leads me back to you

The burdens that I bear,
are too shameful to share
The journey that I'm on,
doesn't take me anywhere

It is said that love is blind,
And, I know... I've been unkind
but, you've always had
the power to see through me

Chorus
I know very well,
that I've broken your trust...
I'm traveling on a pathway,
that's beaten me black and blue
but, I just can't seem to find,
the road that leads me back to you

I know that when a precious thing
receives a fatal blow...
You can try to piece the pieces,
but, the damage will still show

Our love is like a broken vase,
so precious and unique
Let's bond ourselves back together,
and let loving actions speak

Chorus
I know very well,
that I've broken your trust...
I'm traveling on a pathway,
that's beaten me black and blue
but, I just can't seem to find,
the road that leads me home to you

I've tried to find some peace,
shutting off the craziness of night
I've been searching for the shining star
to lead me home 'fore morning light

Just knowing that you'll be there,
waiting patiently for me
Gives me the courage to come home,
and set me free from misery

Chorus
I know very well,
that I've broken your trust...
I'm traveling on a pathway,
that's beaten me black and blue
but, I just can't seem to find,
the road that leads me home to you

the road that leads me back to you
the road that leads me back to you
the road that leads me back to you

repeat and fade
