The Moon of the New Moon

You who have become the moon of the new moon,
Lost in realms unknown,
You’re not found through searching,
These eyes no longer see.
Should I now call upon you,
Compose verses to celebrate,
How deep is this love, I must narrate.
Come, for there’s no more waiting,
Come, for he’s seriously ailing,
Come, for he’s waiting only for you,
Come, for the city is crumbling,
Come, for one soul is parting,
Come, for he’s deeply despondent,
Come, for he’s searching intensely,
Come, for tears need to dissolve,
Come, for moments need to slip away,
Come, for this world seems empty,
Come, for all sorrows seem to weigh,
Come, for dreams are about to shatter,
Come, for someone dear is about to scatter,
Come, so we can journey together,
Come, so the sun can set forever,
Come, for our story remains incomplete,
Come, for a single step’s retreat,
Come, for his curses take effect,
Come, for his breath is wreathed in smoke,
Come, for he’s become careless,
Come, for the boy is lost,
Come, for he hopes in you,
Come, for his eyes yearn for rest,
Come, so he can finally cry,
Come, so he can sleep his last,
Come, for no one will say a word,
Come, for now, he’ll be unheard,
Come, for this is the final plea,
Come, for it’s a divine decree,
Come, for the prayers go unanswered,
Come, for desires remain unspoken,
Come, for my sky is incomplete,
Come, for my dreams are yet unbroken.
You who have become the moon of the new moon,
Lost in realms unknown,
Should I now call upon you,
Compose verses to celebrate,
Poetry to express, I must translate.
