Love Poem: The Mislaying of Love and Faith

The Mislaying of Love and Faith

Do you remember us

When once we lived amidst this great field of consciousness
do you remember how we were
how in harmonic flow we perceived
and in this our loving connection
we praised, our gratitude, the appreciation
this was our worship
for all of your creation

Do you miss us

Do you miss our voice, our laughter and joy
our celebration
the soaring music of our daily dance
do you wonder where lost we are
do you miss the artful beauty of human life
as in creativity it sought to enhance
this grand scope gifted of you
the intelligence of harmony
the knowing of unity

Do you remember us when we were

For now our voice cries only sorrow and loss
in the horrors of wars and economic gods
we perceive now only struggle and only live for survival
narrowed in the constraints of hope and its desperate tunnel
yet no longer friend but enemy to everyone
upon the ritual of stamping boots
as it blends or misbegotten kinship

Do you not miss our love

Do you wonder where we have gone

Into a silence of disconnected
while our now tiny voice weeps
and no longer echoes through the stars and centuries
we bow our heads in prisons and have come to be
the lonely forgotten children
who once held the inspiration of dreams
now merely to praise an aberration

Is this truly what you wish from us
to be so isolated
so divorced from the fanfare of life
so roughshod in our approach
so unaware of the miraculous
is it to be so for us to be
for us to be so oblivious of you
and so senseless of ourselves
to have reached this cul-de-sac
to have come to this stunted evolution

If then this is what you desire
I must to your design I yield
but with this cognizance you have granted
I must speak my mind, from my heart and soul
ask you
why such a terrible waste
why should such a human tragedy to befall
when once we lived amidst this great field of consciousness
do you remember how we were
how in harmonic flow we perceived
and in this our loving connection
we praised, our gratitude, the appreciation
it was all our worship then
for all of your creation

Do you remember us

Do you miss us

Do you wonder where we have gone
