The Midnight Hour

The Midnight Hour

Straight up the timepiece arrows aim
as Cupid’s arrow does the same
‘neath shadows cast in lunar glow
on lover’s warmth amid the snow.

At final click and hum of bow
two hearts, akin, will surely know
as the tower’s church bells peal
their hearts are true, their love is real.

The lifetime of an arrows arc
circling hands of light and dark
pause, allowing love its play
pause, as night turns into day.
