The Love That Dies In Silence

the love that dies in silence by default
turns toes that once at angles spread,
now curled up with the rigor of neglect,
dies unchallenged.
And I have seen the physical retract,
the scarlet of desire drab and dead.

the love that dies in silence by design,
a stratagem that callously proceeds,
pumped up with veins of sadness and regret,
dies starving.
And I have felt the tears burn the day,
the blood set loose until it simply bleeds.

the love that dies in silence by itself
as time drives daggers in it's flagging heart,
spiked to the jaws of ragged, senile wolves,
dies ingested.
And I have known the hidden of the truth,
the doomsday factor inbuilt from the start.

the love that dies in silence by the by
is mourned bestride the catastrophic breast,
in sanguine weeping weeds that choke the rib,
dies of wanting.
And I have known the womb of emptiness,
the love of all my lifetime laid to rest.
