The Love of Nobody's Life

I should be someone’s lover; significant other
But there is no one to love me, not even my mother
I have fallen in love more times than I can remember
But am always alone, January to December

Nobody ever calls, to say they love me
In someone’s heart and mind, I will never be
I have been left alone to my own devices
To suffer the misery of a loveless crisis

The pain in my heart is more than I can bear
For I can’t run my fingers through anybody’s hair
Or kiss the sweet lips of someone who cares
As our love ascends endless flights of stairs

I am jealous of any love story, either real or film
If happiness is a cake, love is the cream
Since I can’t afford neither, I will let my heart bleed.
I would love to be in love, but love isn’t guaranteed

The love of my life exists only in a dream
But In reality she belongs only to him
He is the man who swept her of her feet
While I was busy buying her flowers down the street

The years pass away quick as love passes me quicker
As I age, I rage for my chances grow thinner
There is a knock on my door but it’s not love knocking
Its death instead, for I can feel inside me illnesses flocking

Even youth doesn’t love me, for I can see it leaving
Life is departing from me, the times are unforgiving
Still there is no one to love me, or comfort my despairs
Love is the first in my list of unanswered prayers

Fate denies me a chance, I have not any prospects
They take my number down but never reply my texts
They smile with me and flirt
But end up breaking my heart

I guess it’s just as well, some people are meant to be alone
If there is someone out there for me, she will forever be unknown
I know neither love nor how without it one can survive
I am the love of nobody’s life
